imageTim’s experience as an accountant, lawyer and management consultant means he brings a wide range of skills to bear as a business advisor.

He has worked in various capacities for a number of high-profile financial, technology, accountancy, legal and not-for-profit organisations.

Tim has developed particular expertise in taxation, financial and management accounting, strategic planning, financial modeling, industry research, due diligence, legal compliance and company secretarial services.

Tim has a well-deserved reputation for solving complex financial, commercial and organisational problems for his clients. He will go the extra mile to deliver the highest possible level of service and customer satisfaction.

Tims experience includes:

  • Currently works as a practising accountant and member of the Etax Local network, providing taxation, accounting and corporate services to a range of companies, family and commercial trusts, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF), sole-traders and individuals;
  • Worked full-time for a top-tier global law firm as a newly admitted lawyer, undertaking: due diligence for corporate and financial transactions, including business sale & acquisition and corporate restructures; establishment of companies and corporate structures; company secretarial services; discovery in relation to large-scale litigation and arbitration matters, including shareholder class actions, construction disputes and corporate insolvency; and information disclosure for Australian (ACCC, ASIC, AFP) and international regulatory investigations;
  • Worked as a financial accountant for a high-growth communications technology business, preparing statutory financial statements according to AASB accounting standards (audited by Ernst & Young), managing payroll, management accounting, cash budgeting, financial forecasting for investor presentations, the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive program, family trust accounting and other accounting systems and processes, and managing ATO & AusIndustry tax audits;
  • Undertook turnaround-focused financial analysis, cashflow forecasting and financial operations re-structuring in relation to near-insolvent businesses, as a sub-contractor to an accountancy firm;
  • Conducted research and analysis instrumental in the development of the Asia/Pacific strategy of a major financial institution;
  • Managed a multi-disciplinary project team tasked to re-engineer the business processes of a large financial services business to properly account for the Goods & Services Tax (GST), including: developing a fully-automated GST-complaint general-ledger system; GST contract review; and staff training on GST;
  • Developed continuity-of-business (COB) plans to facilitate effective disaster recovery;
  • Managed the drafting and implementation of product pricing plans, customer and website terms and conditions, employee/contractor agreements and human resources and operations manuals, for a technology organisation;
  • Managed the drafting and implementation of cardholder terms and conditions documentation for a large charge/credit card financial services organisation;
  • Managed the outsourcing of the charge/credit card-production function of a large financial services organisation, including competitive tendering and contract management;
  • Identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be the subject of continuous improvement using the Process Improvement Team (PIT) concept and Quality Measurements;
  • Was a member of the Due Diligence team of a major financial institution;
  • Managed legal compliance programs for a number of large financial organisations, including those relating to anti-money-laundering legislation and privacy laws;
  • Analysed the business case for a new charitable organisation, managed its incorporation, registration as a charity and receipt of various tax concessions including Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, and established accounting systems and processes to comply with financial disclosure requirements under the Australian Charities & Not-for-Profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth);
  • Developed and managed fundraising campaigns to identify major donors for several charitable organisations;
  • Acted as Company Secretary for a number of not-for-profit organisations;
  • Advised on and managed the establishment of a new Federal political party, including facilitating registration with the Australian Electoral Commission and establishing accounting systems and processes to comply with financial disclosure requirements under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (Cth);
  • Developed public policy for various lobby-groups and political parties; and
  • Has held various executive and policy-development positions at a number of not-for-profit community organisations in Australia.
