Tims experience includes:
Currently works as member of the Etax Local network, providing taxation, accounting and corporate services to a range of companies, family and commercial trusts, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF), sole-traders and individuals;
Worked full-time for a top-tier global law firm as a newly admitted lawyer, undertaking: discovery in relation to large-scale litigation and arbitration matters, including shareholder class actions, construction disputes and corporate insolvency; information disclosure for Australian (ACCC, ASIC, AFP) and international regulatory investigations; and due diligence for corporate and financial transactions, including business sale & acquisition and corporate restructures;
Worked as a financial accountant for a high-growth communications technology business, preparing statutory financial statements according to AASB accounting standards (audited by Ernst & Young), managing payroll, management accounting, cash budgeting, financial forecasting for investor presentations, the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive program, family trust accounting and other accounting systems and processes, and managing ATO & AusIndustry tax audits;
Undertook turnaround-focused financial analysis, cashflow forecasting and financial operations re-structuring in relation to near-insolvent businesses, as a sub-contractor to an accountancy firm;
Conducted research and analysis instrumental in the development of the Asia/Pacific strategy of a major financial institution;
Managed a multi-disciplinary project team tasked to re-engineer the business processes of a large financial services business to properly account for the Goods & Services Tax (GST), including: developing a fully-automated GST-complaint general-ledger system; GST contract review; and staff training on GST;
